Earlier this week we spoke with West Feliciana's starting point guard and today the report is on his backcourt mate Chad Tillery. Tillery is a natural scorer from the two guard position who knows how to put the ball in the basket. He played his summer ball with the Stateline Raiders.
As we mentioned, Tillery is a natural scorer and he made no qualms about it when he said, “[my] strong point is my ability to score the basketball.” He'll need to continue to be more aggressive which means less settling when he can take advantage of a match-up.
On the defensive end he uses his quickness and athleticism that he displayed at our recent combine to put pressure on offensive players. As he continues to grow and develop strength, he has the potential to be a real difference maker here.
Chad told us he wants to, “become a pure shooter and a great ball handler,” to further his offensive exploits. He wants to make his teammates better bu knows his role is to score. He told us that the “team goal is to make the playoffs after a 1 year absence.”
Individually he wants to make colleges take notice with his play. While they haven't begun to reach out, if he continues to score at a high level, someone will have no choice but to. He has a 3.0 GPA and will take the ACT for the first time this year.
