“I make good choices when the ball is in my hand.” This is very true and when he doesn't he is the first to own up to it. A real sign of maturity for a player who will be counted on a lot. He's working on the skills and being more physical to add to his strong mental game.
“I communicate well with my teammates at all times whether on defense or offense and even when I'm on the bench.” We alluded to his vocal approach to the game which is a lost art these days but he reassures any doubts. He's very quick and has no problem defending.
When discussing his role for Lutcher this coming season, he made it very clear with this statement: “My role this upcoming season is to continue to be a leader for my team on and off the court, its good for me to stay on my teammates on and off the court so that when can be successful as a team.”
We asked him to tell us why coaches should take note and he said, “My ability to get to the rim, my midrange pull up style of play, my role as being a vocal leader on the court, and the way I make my teammates better.” Those are all attributes he put on display throughout the summer when we watched.
He hasn't begin hearing from a lot of colleges but that should change as he leads Lutcher deeper this season. He doesn't care which school is interested in him because he's open to any opportunity. Lutcher under coach Chase Delrie is looking to make a deep run this year.
Taylor has a 3.0 GPA with a 16 currently on his ACT. He'll need to get that up but it shouldn't be an issue at all. We suspect there is a big season in store for him and Lutcher alike.
