Beachler has been one of the most productive players for Lowell High School over the last few years. In fact, during his sophomore season, he led Lowell in scoring, rebounding, steals, and three point field goals.
Perhaps the most notable moment of Beachler’s sophomore season came in December when he broke Lowell High School’s single-game scoring record with an impressive 44 points. He relied on nine three point buckets to achieve the feat.
Of course, the skill that probably garners him the most attention is his shooting. Beachler’s consistency from outside sets him apart from others and he has been able to showcase this on several occasions. Particularly, his performance at the CMU Elite Camp attracted Beachler plenty of attention last July.
All told, Beachler’s performances have started to impact his recruitment.
Currently. Beachler not only has offers from nine schools including Central Michigan, Oakland, DePaul and VCU, but also has attention from several Big Ten schools. These Big Ten programs include Michigan, Michigan State, and Northwestern and though none of these schools have offered yet, the schools are continuing to speak with Beachler.
During the fall, Beachler has gotten the chance to check out all three of these Big Ten schools. He was able to see the Spartans face-off against Oregon in football on September 12th, the Wolverines play against BYU on September 26th, and Northwestern when the Wildcats played Big Ten rival Iowa at home on October 17th.
All three trips appear to have went well for Beachler and his family. During his trip to East Lansing, Beachler not only got the chance to visit campus and watch Michigan State’s football team, but also got an exciting opportunity to check out an open gym with former MSU players. He has also been invited back for Michigan State’s Midnight Madness on Friday, October 23rd.
The trip to Northwestern also went well. Beachler’s family was impressed with, “the coaching staff, their philosophies and the team” and also genuinely excited about Northwestern’s academic opportunities. Beachler is a strong high school student with a 4.05 GPA, so academics will certainly play a role in his decision.
Michigan has also told Beachler that the staff will have “a close and deliberate watch on his progression.” The Wolverines are expected to be in plenty of times to watch Beachler this season with the potential to offer him in the future.
Beachler has quickly become one of the more talked about prospects in the state of Michigan’s 2017 recruiting class and if he can continue his play into this season, expect his recruiting attention to get even hotter this year.
Beachler is currently ranked as the #6 overall player in Michigan's 2017 class.
