Here we look at a cross class reference point to see how they stack up against each other in our “Overall Prospect Rankings.” This is a look at prospects #1 – #5.
#1 C Jeremiah Tilmon (East St. Louis _ 2017)
This was the easiest call on the board. He is without a doubt the top prospect in the state regardless of class. Tilmon has tremendous size, skill, mobility, and potential to get even better. He has made great strides over the last year and we expect a dominant year out of him.
Note: This countdown was done before Tilmon transfered to La Lumiere (IN).
#2 SG Tim Finke (Champaign Central _ 2018)
Finke has everything you could ask for in a young wing prospect. At 6’5” he can handle the ball with ease getting to the rim with plus athleticism. He is a great perimeter shooter that knows how to set up his shot. Advanced feel for the game and continues to improve each time we see him.
#3 SG Kezo Brown (Simeon _ 2018)
There is a lot of upside in this slashing combo guard. He handles it smooth in traffic with speed and can get to the basket. Scores it well from mid-range and is a solid passer. Huge upside.
#4 PF Christian Negron (Larkin _ 2017)
I am a huge fan of Negron. He is an elite athlete that can defend multiple positions, plays with a never ending motor, hits the glass, blocks shots, and has shown improved perimeter skills. If he grows he could continue to move up this list!
#5 Jordan Goodwin (Belleville Althoff _ 2017)
Mr. Production! Goodwin brings it every game and stuffs the stat sheet. The physical wing is an elite rebounder and an elite passer for an off guard. He powers his way to the hoop consistently. Jump shot away from being unstoppable.
