Cordell Pemsl, Dubuque Wahlert, 2016: In what is likely the most difficult race to decide of any conference, we'll give the edge to the walking double-double. Pemsl is finally going to enter a season healthy and he should be dominant from start to finish. You could truly make an argument for just about any player that is mentioned as a first teamer to be the Player of the Year, but Pemsl is the guiding force behind a team looking to win their third straight 3A championship, and he gets the nod.


Cordell Pemsl, Dubuque Wahlert, 2016: 17.3 points, 8.9 rebounds, 57.9 FG%, 54 assists, 24 blocks

Connor McCaffery, Iowa City West, 2017: 13.0 points, 4.7 rebounds, 110 assists, 47.8 FG%, 78.9 FT%

Tra'Von Fagan, Cedar Falls, 2016: 14.5 points, 6.8 rebounds, 42 steals, 29 blocks, 55.0 FG%

Jordan Bohannon, Linn-Mar, 2016: 17.8 points, 4.6 rebounds, 97 assists, 42.3 3P%, 94.0 FT%

Devontae Lane, Iowa City West, 2017: 12.9 points, 3.3 rebounds, 65 assists, 73 steals, 52.2 FG%

Second team

Jared Printy, Linn-Mar, 2016: 12.2 points, 4.2 rebounds, 40 assists, 38.9 3P% (at Cedar Rapids Washington)

A.J. Green, Cedar Falls, 2018: 8.1 points, 2.2
