Thoughts. Made it to state, have one of the state’s best in Hinker, return three full time starters and another part timer, they return a guy in Oldenkamp who we have under rated, and overall they should be able to capitalize greatly on last year’s run and improve on the 15-10 record from a year ago. Six guys from last year’s rotation are back plus they have some good sophomores that can step in to spots.
SF Christian
Returning Starters. Chad Barkema (6-5, SF, 12), Austin Schreur (6-6, C, 12), Keegan Van Egdom (6-1, SG, 12), Jackson Schipper (5’11, PG, 12)
Returning Bench Players. Dejay Fykstra (6’5, F, 11), Josh Fligge (6’6, PF, 11), Paul Eide (5’11, PG, 12)
New Talent. Lincoln Unruh (6’0, PG, 10), Koln Oppold (6’2, SG, 10), Joel Dehaai (6’5, PF, 10)

Thoughts. This is a loaded group. Lost some good seniors but Barkema and Van Egdom were two of the top eight guys in the league last year, they have veteran and young size, Fykstra is on the verge of big things, and their sophomore class is excellent. They can go nine or ten deep meaning they have shooters, depth, athletes, size scoring, versatility, and just about everything needed. One thing though, the pressure is definitely on.
Tea Area
Returning Starters. Ethan Friedel (6’0, SG, 11), Cole Sabers (PG, 5’10, 12), Payton Conrad (6’0, F, 12),
Returning Bench Players. Tommy Fritz (5’10 ,PG, 12), Cole Barthel (6’2, SF, 11), Evan Munkvold (SG, 11), Tate Hoff (6’0, SG, 12), Carter Bohaboj (6’3, F, 12)
New Talent. Chris Morales (5’7, PG, 10), Jake Friedrich (6’5. PF, 10)
Trending. Up
Thoughts. Two seniors graduated but the best talent in the program keeps moving forward. Friedel is stepping forward to potential all state caliber while Sabers and Conrad are seniors to support in what is a solid class followed by a decent junior class plus watch for Jake Friedrich who has size in the sophomore group.
Tri-Valley
Returning Starters. Jayden Burggraff (6-0, SG, 11), Will Steineke (6-6, PF, 11)
Returning Bench Players. Noah Jewett (5-8, PG, 10),
New Talent. Austin Arends (6-0, G, 12)
Trending. Down
Thoughts. They won 14 games last year and bring back their strong inside threat in Steineke along with Burggraff but so much has been lost from the team because of graduation. Three starters and six rotation guys are gone with a lot of unknowns filling in. They should be solid at guard and inside but they really need to find forwards that can play if they want to reach last year’s level of play again.
Vermillion
Returning Starters. Cooper Williams (6’0, PG, 11), Paul Schwasinger (5-10, PG, 12), Jeremiah Johnson (6’2, SF, 12), Jacob Manger (6’5, PF, 12)
Returning Bench Players. Riley Peters (6’1, F, 11), Matt Ouellette (5’10, G, 12), Brandon Mockler (6’0, F, 12)
New Talent. Zeke Robinson (5’9, PG, 11), Logan Peterson (5’9, SG, 12), Rylan Pratt (5’9, PG, 10).

Thoughts. When you bring back all but one guy from the rotation from an eight win team you will be playing with experience. Williams and Johnson are the key pieces but Manger will be very important as he is their guy with size. They should definitely be improved.
West Central
Returning Starters. Noah Vettrus (6’3, SG, 12), Cody Bussell (6’3, SF, 12),
Returning Bench Players. Nick Nagel (5’9, PG, 11), Bryce Edberg (6’4, PF, 12)
New Talent. Tyndall Petterson (5’10, SG, 11)
Trending. Same
Thoughts. Vettrus is one of the best in the league and Bussell works fantastic with him. They are both back so improvement should be expected but the team was half seniors last year so there are gaps to fill.
