Antoine Locke (Bolingbrook – 2016)
Locke is tough as nails. He is a powerful 6’0” lead guard that gets in the lane and uses his strength and powerful body to finish through defenders in the paint. He got to the rack time after time. Also did a good job on the offensive glass. Solid passer, but more of a scorer. Over dribbles at times. Very talented small school prospect.
Darick Anderson Jr (Bolingbrook – 2016)
This Bolingbrook point guard is a quick and shifty senior that showed he could score it. Anderson drilled pull up jumpers one after another from both mid-range and three. Proved he could score with ease. Scoring combo guard that could be a nice small school gem.
Isaac Nelson (Springfield – 2016)
Nelson is a scoring left handed point guard that is known for being a perimeter shooter. He struggled in one of the shooting drills early when we saw him, but when the lights of the games came on he turned it up a notch and started raining in triples.
Jalen Jones (Joliet Central – 2016)
This 6’0” point guard was a standout on the defensive end. He wanted to lock his man down and get things started the other way. Jones is an active on ball defender that moves well laterally and uses his hands to get deflections. Offensively showed flashes when in attack mode with a couple nice takes and a sweet finish inside.
Corey Upchurch (Rich East – 2016)
Upchurch is a left handed lead guard that is tough with the rock in his hands. He is slippery through traffic. Struggled shooting the ball from the perimeter, but shined getting to the hoop off the bounce and in transition.
PJ Pipes (Lemont – 2017)
Pipes was one of the top prospects at the event and the 2017 prospect showed why. The Lemont combo guard is a bowling ball with the basketball in his hands. He is an elite mid-range shooter in the pull up game and displayed blow by ability off the bounce. Pipes continues to make steady strides as a floor general doing particularly well drawing defenders and kicking to open teammates.
Joey Coffaro (Hersey – 2017)
The talk of the day was this Hersey junior combo guard. Coffaro was about in as much of a zone from three as you could be. The 5’11” guard has an effortless shooting stroke with consistent mechanics and lift off the floor. He was absolutely lethal from three point territory in the catch and shoot. Coffaro is more than just a plus shooter however. He handles it well and is crafty getting in and out of traffic with the ball. Plays with confidence and swagger.
De’Ante Walker (United Township – 2017)
Walker is a quick and shifty 5’10” lead guard that has potential. He plays with a chip on his shoulder and with speed in the open floor. Looked very good in the pull up game using his jump shot where he gets great elevation and lift off the floor.
David Jasson (Uplift – 2017)
The lefty lead guard from Uplift had his good moments, but also struggled at times. The positives were he showed range on his jump shot hitting a couple deep threes. Also has ability in the stop and pop pull up game. Has plus athleticism and potential defensively. He started to fall in love shooting it from three though instead of running his team taking some bad shots and turning it over.
Ayo Dosunmu (Morgan Park – 2018)
It was not surprise that Dosunmu shined at the camp as he is one of the top 2018 prospects in the state of Illinois. The smooth point guard has a great feel for the game and plays with supreme confidence. He was particularly effective in the pick and roll game where he made great reads and worked tremendously well with Marian Catholic big man TeeAaron Powell. Dosunmu consistently found his big man and put him in position to succeed. He used his speed and vision in the open court to make plays. The sophomore has the ball on a string and gets in the lane with ease. This Morgan Park standout can also score with an effective pull up jump shot and great range.
Brandon Simberg (Lake Forest Academy – 2018)
This Lake Forest Academy point guard was extremely impressive with his high IQ and the way he commanded the game. The 5’8” sophomore is a plus passer in the open floor having several spectacular finds to his teammates for layups. His speed and the way he kept pushing the tempo really caused a problem for his opponent. Also showed he could score a little too with nice runners in the lane. One to watch going forward.
Bryant Grant (Lighthouse, IN – 2018)
The Indiana native was a playmaker with the ball. He displayed a nice feel for the game and played with flare juking in and out of traffic. Good in the catch and shoot as a perimeter marksmen as well.
Isaiah Turner (Fremd – 2018)
Turner is a raw combo guard prospect that has potential. He has long arms and a rangy frame that he should continue to add strength onto. You have to like how hard Turner plays all the time. Almost too hard at times. He handles it well in the open floor and can get to the basket. More of a scorer at this stage. Upside!
Rocco Ronzio (Hersey – 2019)
Ronzio is a 6’0” point guard who excelled shooting the ball from three point territory. He has a great looking shooting stroke with pure mechanics. Solid passer that got his teammates involved and also competed on the glass. Tough kid!
