The explosive guard broke out last year for Willowbrook where he led them on a long winning streak and to one of the best seasons in school history. Verge played well on the Nike EYBL circuit with the St. Louis Eagles against the best competition in the nation this summer showing flashes of the type of player he could become. He chose to attend Proviso West for his junior season shortly before school started back in August and now he is off to the Florida prep school.
High profile transfers to prep schools are becoming a trend with Northwestern commit and top 5 2016 prospect Rapolas Ivanauskas going from Barrington to Brewster Academy for his senior season. A trio of 2017 prospects that were among the top 10 prospects in the spring are now no longer in the state with Verge joining big men Jeremiah Tilmon and Joey St. Pierre both who transferred to La Lumiere in Indiana.
The class of 2017 still has a lot of depth and high major prospects, but these transfers keep chipping away at the star power.
