Taylan Grogan is a six foot point guard out of Patterson High School. He's used this summer to really show off his abilities both athletically and skill wise. He can make players around him better or score when needed.
On the offensive end he can score on multiple levels or facilitate thanks to his vision. He told us just that when he said, “My strong points [are] my offensive awareness and being able to score.” On defense he knows he needs to improve his lateral quickness and sit down and defend more.
“My role this season is to be a scorer and a leader for the team.” Grogan understands he will be leaned on this year and is ready for the challenge. He also said, “Individual goal is to lead the team and keep us organized.”
When it comes to the next level and impressing coaches, Taylan knows that his athletic abilities will impress. He also told us that his ability to shoot (which was on display at both the camp and combine) and his play-making abilities will as well.
He's begun hearing from coaches on multiple levels such as Northwestern State and Grambling. Mobile watched him recently and came away impressed as well. When the test results from the combine come out, those numbers should help open eyes.
Taylan Grogan currently has a 2.9 GPA and a 16 on the ACT but is taking it again next month as that was his first try. We fully believe he has what it takes to contribute at the next level and will be in Patterson watching.
