This past summer saw Jon Ross Richardson improve his game and stock to college coaches. After gaining a bit of college interest inbetween his freshman and sophomore year, this past summer the 6-foot-5 forward junior saw his profile really start to rise on the recruiting circuit.

“It’s been very interesting and it has just made me work harder and want to improve my game even better,” Richardson said of the rise in his interest.

While playing with SYF Players this past summer, the No. 37 prospect in Prep Hoops Indiana’s Top 100 for the Class of 2017 had discussions with a multitude of programs.

He talked with Western Illinois, Air Force, Navy, Indiana Wesleyan, University of Denver and Northern Kentucky.

These coaches told him they could see him potentially playing multiple positions.

“Some of them saw me playing the two guard and some others thought I’d be playing the three,” Richardson said. “I need to work on getting bigger and doing some more ball handling and attacking the rim, too.”

Richardson is already on his way to improving from the competition he faced this summer.
