“The visit was good,” Thomas said. “My favorite part was watching the practice. It gave me a chance to see what their practice is like. Its fast and to the point, I like that.
“Also the football game was fun to watch (vs Kent State) especially since we won and we were basically on the field we had really nice seats. Also my favorite part of the football game was Drew's popcorn! It was so good (Jarvis said with a laugh).”
Thomas seems like he will be more of a Midwestern recruit based on his weather thoughts.
“Honestly the only downside to the visit was it was kind of hot,” Thomas said with another laugh.
The Minnesota class of 2018 talent already has six guys with D1 scholarship offers and nine guys overall that right now look to have a shot at playing high major basketball. The Gophers have already brought eight of those players to campus for unofficial visits this fall including Thomas.
“They seem like a pretty fast team and they like to get out and run the floor which I like to do so I think it fits me pretty well,” Thomas said of the Gophers.
To what level Jarvis will eventually be at is still to be decided. He’s an incredibly explosive 6-foot-6 forward who plays more four right now. Jarvis continues to grow as well so teams at all levels are looking at him.
The list of schools, it’s very long.
“I’m hearing from South Dakota, North Dakota State, Northern Iowa, Drake, Baylor, Wisconsin-Green Bay, South Dakota State, Iowa State, Minnesota, Pepperdine, Marquette, Wisconsin, Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Creighton, and Nebraska.”
To categorize that is 15 schools in all, seven high majors, and all but two of the 13 schools in Minnesota and the surrounding four states.
Jarvis and the Tartan Titans have high expectations this year as they bring back seven guys from last year’s rotation plus Jarvis will be stepping into a low post role now as a sophomore.
