“When the game means more than anything to you, trying to be the best player you can be becomes easier everyday,” White said. “Once the gym becomes your home, nothing feels better.”
That is what White did all summer, work in the gym. Why? He has a goal to make his Wolsey-Wessington team as good this year as they were last season.
“People may underestimate us without Lorenzo Williams, but I think we will come together as a team and not just make it to the state tournament, but win it.”
White will play college sports and it seems he loves the game of basketball. Several teams invited him to campus for camps to get an early look.
“I've just had some schools invite me to camps, nothing serious,” Bennett said. “I have received invites to camps for Mount Mary, USF, USD, and Minot State. No visits set-ups right now, but Minot State has shown the most interest.”
White averaged 11.1 points, 4.8 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 1.6 steals per game as a sophomore for one of the top teams in the state. He knocked out 45 percent of his field goals and 46 percent of his treys.
