For Team Bibby there were a few players that could arguably have earned this honor including 2016 Shadow Mountain point guard Michael Bibby and 2016 Fairfax forward Kevin Mack from the 17U group. Shadow Mountain junior Darion Spottsville and Paradise Valley junior Terriq Tshaka were remarkable for the 16U group as well. However, no one meant more to the success of their team than Shadow Mountain senior J.J. Rhymes.
Rhymes was the most consistent threat for Team Bibby 17U. He was very active on both ends of the floor and just seemed to make things happen. Offensively he consistently scored at a high rate from every level on the floor. He also grabbed a ton of rebounds and his ability to draw fouls made it tough for opponents. On the defensive end J.J. seemed to always guard the best player whether it was a point guard, wing, or post.
Team Bibby finished ranked as the #1 17U Team of the Spring and #1 17U Team of the Summer.
