Columbia Heights. Baptiste is an explosive talent, this is his year
Fridley. Don't expect too much drop off, good athletes.
Hill-Murray. No Marshawn but Davis and Moore will be solid
Mahtomedi. Shayne Frost coming in is huge, Parker Fox has potential.
St. Anthony Village. An interesting program that is off and on with talent.
St. Paul Como Park. Demetric Mitchell led in scoring last year, is back
St. Paul Johnson. Don't sleep on them, no star but quality players.
Totino-Grace. Rob Ware inherits a nice frontcourt, young PG
Ten Thoughts
- Very open group. Competitive group. Should be a fun group as well. Johnson is the favorite but they don't have a star this year. What they do have is several good players.
- Shayne Frost could make a big impact. The new Zephyr guard from Wisconsin had a great spring and summer with the Minnesota Heat and will take the ball at Mahtomedi.
- No Marshawn Wilson who I always want to call Marshawn Lynch as both showed a lot of Beast Mode a year ago. Hill-Murray no longer has that explosion. Really like all the great things heard about him last year and the work he put in in all ways.
- Jarrett Baptiste. I think he is about to break out and have a huge year. Super explosive kid, the team is his to do big things. Unselfish player though, but has the talent to do what guys like Jake Thomas and Zach Lofton did years back numbers wise.
- Andre Smith is a PG I really like. Had a nice year as a lead guard for Johnson, I think he could really be a fantastic leader keeping Johnson's string of domination going.
- The Zephyrs have four really nice pieces to lean on and Frost leading the way. If they form chemistry wise they could be a tough out.
- Fridley. They are the team that is always not as bad as some say, not as good as some others say. They have a budding standout in Tessy Pal plus Murray and Zarr are pretty good too. Is this the state tournament year?
- Simeon Davis has control of the HM Pioneers now and I think they will be better than people think. Chris Moore is still in the post and it's a club that could win a lot of conference games if role players fill in right.
- Robert Ware is now at Totino-Grace and his first group of talent has Rocky Kreuser and James Streeter. That's the strongest frontline around. They will eat up space.
- This is a section to enjoy. Could go a lot of ways.
