“I absolutely loved it,” Staples said of his visit this weekend to Ferris State. I knew I wanted to go there right away.”
Staples, a 6'7 forward with good athleticism and a strong frame, was looking at quite a few schools but in the end he chose Ferris State over offers from Hillsdale and Army. The fit for Staples was ideal as he knew what he was looking for and when Ferris State checked all of those boxes he was ready to find his next home.
“I knew I wanted to play DII but still go to a big college. I loved the coaches and players,” Staples said of what made the visit so great.
Staples will provide quite a few options for the coaching staff over the next four years. He's a strong kid who can guard most wings and post players. He's quick and athletic and on the defensive end it gives him even more versatility. On offense, Peyton will need to add more of a jump shot but he's a solid driving wing and isn't afraid to be a player in the post either.
