The big man Mitchell Robinson finally makes his way into the state and he’s headed to Chalmette to turn them into a playoff contender. After a rough year for Chalmette, they will be getting one of the best bigs in the class of 2017 in the nation. Scout.com analyst Rob Harrington expressed how impressed he was by Mitchell at the Peach Jam despite only a quick look. He’ll provide not only a big, athletic body but a great demeanor and attitude to go along with bundles of skill.
Galen Alexander 6’6 F Breaux Bridge to Lafayette Christian
Last season’s Class 1A runner-up Lafayette Christian already had a ton of returning talent and the benefit of Madison Prep heading to 2A but now they add a Top 50-60 ranked player nationally. His game is extremely versatile and he’ll provide the needed size for LCA to compete across the state. Galen Alexander has been flying up the charts the past two years and his athleticism and skill level improve each time you see him. If the LHSAA clears him to play this year, LCA could be one of the best teams in the state.
Davontavean Martin 6’4 G Ellender (sat out last season)
Tae Martin sat last season out due to his transfer but the dynamic guard is ready to showcase his abilities this year. There were numerous times last season where we watched Ellender and were told the best athlete/player was sitting in the stands due to transfer. After seeing his skills this summer, there is no doubt he’ll bring Ellender to a much higher level than before. Surrounded by athletes and talent, Martin will simply have to mesh with them to make that team a contender.
