Myles Douglas is a super athletic wing who can get up and down and finish strong, particularly on the break. He's improving at attacking off the bounce in half court situations as well. When you look at his broad and long frame, it isn't too far off from that of his new Paul VI teammate, VJ King.
With 11 division 1 offers already, from high major schools such as Maryland, Miami, and more recently Penn State, and Virginia Tech, it shouldn't be too long before the bluebloods start getting involved with Douglas' recruitment.
Darius George – 6’6 – Robert E. Lee
While we still haven't gotten a chance to watch George live yet, everything that's been said about him has been extremely positive. A 6-foot-6 wing from Robert E. Lee High School, George was a standout on a Big Shots Elite team which started out 20-0 on the AAU Circuit.
Longwood has offered the junior. It is said that he wants to be great, and has tremendous upside. He's an active wing who turns defense into offense, shoots the three ball, and plays above the rim. He was first team 2A all state as just a sophomore.
Lance Tebay – 6’5 – Bishop Sullivan
Bishop Sullivan's Lance Tebay is a versatile athletic wing forward who is a two-way impact player. He's high IQ wing. An underrated passer, who can rebound effectively in his area. He's long, gets up and down and can finish at the rim with the best of them.
Tebay has a high work rate and more often than not makes the right play. Not to mention, he can shoot it with his feet set out beyond the arc. We expect his recruitment to pick up as he will be a main element to a very good Bishop Sullivan team this year.
Jayden Nixon – 6’4 – St. Anne’s Belfield
Jayden Nixon is a smart and sneaky scorer who can get it done at all 3 levels. He's a specialist in the mid range. Has an excellent 1 and two dribble pull up. The STAB wing is a very athletic finisher, and loves to get up and down. He's long, active, and aggressive defensively. He absolutely loves the game, and is has a great basketball IQ. While he's on the court, you notice he's always smiling and enjoying his time out there. He remains one of the most underrated prospects in Virginia.
Gabriel Osabuohien – 6’7 – Carlisle School
While we have yet to see him, but we hear very good things about Carlisle's new junior wing Gabriel Osabuohien. The Canada native is an extremely athletic and talented 6'7 slashing wing. He's an aggressive finisher at the rim, has a great motor, and is extremely versatile on defense. He's on our must see prospect list, and has outstanding long term upside.
Taquain Drummond – 6’4 – Kecoughtan
Drummond is a scoring guard and athlete who can also serve as a secondary ball-handler. He excels as a defensive playmaker and offensive finisher in transition. He is an excellent on ball defender, and reads passing lanes very well.
He's got a quick first step. He's an athletic guard who can drive and score from different spots, a very good defender, and the possibility remains that he'll be able to play a number of positions later on. He has a chance to end up as one of the more versatile and intriguing prospects in VA's 2017 class.
Terrence Whitfield – 6’3 – Matoaca
Terrence Whitfield will be relied upon as the main play-maker for Matoaca this season. He owns an ideal frame for a next level wing, and his freakish athleticism makes him a match up nightmare when he's driving to the rim.
He's a defensive stalwart, and plays extremely hard on that end. His shot is improving, and while he can be quite streaky at times, when he's hitting, it's tough to guard him. Look for Whitfield to put up some ridiculous stat lines for the Warriors this season.
Brandon Porter – 6’3 – Princess Anne
Princess Anne's Brandon Porter is a lanky, 6'3 combo forward. He owns a very good inside-out skill-set. His ability to stretch the floor from beyond the arc with consistency and range will be important for his team this year. He has good defensive versatility, and can guard a number of different positions. He's improving as a ball handler and breaking down his defenders as he looks to attack off the bounce more. In combination with Mike Barfield Owens, Porter will be part of an up and coming Cavalier frontcourt this season.
Rodney Womble – 6’3 – Dan River
Rodney Womble is a long and versatile wing who led Dan River to its 5th straight 20 win season while earning 2nd team all-conference honors as just a sophomore. Womble can shoot the three ball with consistency, and is also an excellent play maker both in half court and transition. He will be the talisman this year for Dan River as they remain a favorite it VHSL's 2A classification.
Aaron Martin – 6’3 – Martinsville
Aaron Martin is a physical 6'3 shooting guard. He is a great shooter, and is comfortable with his feet set beyond the arc. He can be a bully down low, too. He came up big last year at the Siegel Center for Martinsville, scoring 21 pionts in a win over Greenville to propel them into the state semifinal. After a reserve role as a sophomore, Martin will be a primary option this year. He's heading into the season with some momentum as he was also the top player for Spectrum 16's this summer.
