D2 Targets
Only a few D2 prospects, but four quality ones!
PF Anthony D’Avanzo (Niles Notre Dame)
D’Avanzo is a mobile four man that can be versatile. In the paint he posts up strong making quick post moves with his back to the basket. Also can step out to hit a jumper that reaches to beyond the arc. Shows toughness and heart.
PF Jon Marotta (Lincoln Way West)
Skilled four man that stretches the defense to beyond the arc with his perimeter shooting. He is crafty around the hoop using angles and a soft touch to score down low.
PF Nick Finke (Champaign Central)
Finke is a skilled face up four that excels working in the mid-range where he can pass to cutters, take his man off the dribble every now and then, as well as knock down jumpers. Solid athlete who has potential playing with his back to the basket.
PF Alonzo Chatman (Morgan Park)
Tough and rugged 6’8” power forward who uses his toughness to rebound and plays with a motor. Runs the floor well. Raw offensively getting most of his points in transition or on second chance put backs.
D3/NAIA Targets
This is where the position is at its best with quality depth at the D3 and NAIA levels. Here we highlight some of our favorites.
PF Kaelen Johnson (Peoria Richwoods)
Johnson is a 6’6” power forward with a strong build and quality athleticism. He is mobile and plays with a motor. Uses his quickness to finish against bigger guys around the hoop.
PF Brice Robinson (Oswego)
Robinson is a well-rounded big at 6’7” that has a nice feel for how to score in the paint. He has a strong build, but retains mobility along with decent athleticism. Snatches rebounds aggressively for second chance points.
PF Harry Hallstrom (Naperville Central)
Skilled 6’8” power forward that likes to stretch the defense with his jump shot from 15 to 18 feet. Plus passer out of both low and high post areas.
PF Will Reinhard (Barrington)
Tough and rugged 6’7” four man with long arms. He is a plus post defender anchoring on the block. Offensively he is crafty around the rim and will step out every now and then for a mid-range shot. Quietly very effective player.
C Donovan Ferguson (Downers Grove South)
Ferguson is intriguing for small colleges at 6’8” with his strength and athleticism. Still a little raw he will flash every now and then in the post offensively and is a presence on the defensive end.
PF Bryant Jefferson (United Township)
Long armed and angular 6’8” post that high points rebounds and shows skill potential. Uses length and mobility to score on the interior.
PF Jack Clausel (Newark)
Tough and rugged post that isn’t the most athletic, but knows how to play the game. Clausel is crafty around the hoop and can knock down a mid-range jumper. A D3 or NAIA will be very happy with Clausel.
PF Jordan Cunningham (Danville)
Cunningham is a wide bodied four man that is physical rebounding and snatching balls out of the air at 6’5”. Garners deep post position and has a soft touch around the hoop.
