Following a great summer with the Oklahoma Wizards on the Adidas Rising Circuit TJ Washington pledged his commitment to IUPUI. The Jenks 2016 Standout had an offer from the University of Nebraska-Omaha on the table, but decided IUPUI was the best fit for him.
"I fell in love with the coaching staff, players, and campus at IUPUI," Washington said.
The commitment makes Washington the third player in the 2016 Class to commit to a Division I program. Edmond Memorial Small Forward Kristian Doolittle (Oklahoma) and Lawton Ike Guard Darius Roy (Mercer) are the other two players who have committed to Division I programs.
The future for Washington at IUPUI is very bright. He will get a chance to play at home every year against Oral Roberts in the Summit league. The ability to play at home once a year had a role in Washington committing.
The fit is certainly there for Washington to have a brilliant career over his four years at IUPUI. Washington is a shifty, quick, 5'10" guard that uses his crafty moves to make plays for himself and teammates.
