Cameron Marinnie returns to Osbourn Park High School as one of the leading scorers from the previous season. With the departure of some key seniors, he is preparing to step into a leadership role.

“I want to be the overall leader for my team,” Marinnie said. “I've been working on creating more for my teammates to keep them more focused in the game.”

The strong, skilled, 6'3 forward is primarily known for his ability to put the ball in the basket. As a junior, Marinnie scored double figures in 9 games, including a season high 20 against Stonewall Jackson.

“I'm an all-around guy who's a sharpshooter,” he said. “I can power through smaller defenders when going to the basket.”

While he's not really considered as a primary distributor, he believes that his passing one of the most underrated aspects of his game, along with his ability to rebound. CNU, Marymount, and Catholic University have all expressed interest.

“They like how he can put the ball in the basket at a high rate,” he said. “They also like how I can bang with taller bigs.”

With knowledge of a larger role this year, Marinnie has set some attainable goals for himself heading into the season.

“My goals are to make first team all-conference and possibly get honorable mention for all region.”

Keep an eye out for a dramatic increase in overall production from Cameron Marinnie at Osbourn Park this season.
