Continue ReadingThe recruitment over Madison (IN) forward Adida Ikongshul was short. Heading into the Grassroots season, Adida was a name that many knew nothing about. He had only been in the states for a short time and only been playing the sport for a short time. Now, he's off the board and heading to Western Michigan.
The Indiana Elite Central small forward is a stellar athlete with plenty of raw skills and looks like he is picking up things very quickly. His biggest deterrent is his stature. At 6'5, Adida is more of a run, jump, and dunk guy with some good rebounding instincts. He will have to add in more perimeter skills down the road and refine his jumpshot.
Now, the Broncos are getting a guy with a lot of upside. He's long and rangy and moves well even when in the air. If he adds a legitimate jumper, things could really start to take off for him.
“I love the campus,” Adida said of his reasons for picking Western Michigan. “They have a great business school and they are family oriented. Coach Hawkins was really excited and he said I just made his day.”
Ikongshul said he chose Western Michigan over offers from Austin Peay and UIC. He also had interest from Cornell, Illinois State, Western Kentucky, Furman, and Eastern Kentucky.
