Jordan Walker (Cathedral): Moved from #33 to #22
The biggest holdup from my perspective on Jordan Walker was how he would fit into the national landscape of players as a guy that is considered more of a combo guard. Could he play against high level competition and make an impact? I think playing for EG10 on the Adidas Gauntlet proved to some extant that he can. His speed, pace, and athleticism played up well. He's still going to have to define his scoring game a bit more but overall he deserves the bump up.
Dru Smith (Evansville Reitz): Moved from #27 to #13
People are really starting to jump on the Dru Smith bandwagon and I've been one for a while but very similar to Walker, I wanted to see how he would do against national level competition. Reitz wasn't even really challenged until the very end of the year so it was hard to tell. I think physically and IQ wise he can play up but I'm still not sold on his offensive ability, yet.
Peyton Staples (Mishawaka): Moved from #56 to #24
Staples was a little hidden to this point of his career but this has been a big summer for him. His ceiling isn't really high because he's a little undersized for the style of game that he plays but coming in at #24 is about his ceiling and that is a good thing. He's showcasing his entire game right now and colleges are picking up on that. Expect a lot of calls at the end of next week.
Mark Madden (South Bend St. Joseph): Moved from #52 to #44
Madden has been a quite player in the state of Indiana but one that can really play. He's got a little more size now (6'3) and he's bulked up a bit and it has made him a better offensive player. I've watched him enough to know how good he is and I think in his final season at SBSJ, people will pick that up as well.
Antoyne Jackson (Franklin Central): #112 to #88
Jackson was a guy that popped onto the scene very early on in his high school career but never really got any bigger and his growth as a player stalled a bit. Now, he's still only about 6'5 but he's bulked up and changed his game and that has really taken shape during the spring. He's driving more and a lot more active of a player. Finding his game has been a pleasant surprise.
