Recruiting Report: Eli Ramsey (2018)
Carroll senior Eli Ramsey (2018) has shown great improvement this season and shown he is a true favorite to win GCL Player of the Year. Leading in nearly category especially on the offensive side, Ramsey has been the leader of the Patriots all season and as a result has seen a spike in his recruitment.
Carroll came out to a sluggish start this year, but has rattled off several wins since and now sit at 11-7. Ramsey feels the team has come together since the start of the season and has the confidence to continue their success into March. Ramsey has used his ability to get to the rim to help lead the Patriots all year but his improved midrange and three point shot has made him an even more dangerous offensive player. He would like to continue to work on his three point shot and become a more consistent scorer from long range.
One memory Eli will keep with him from high school is his ability to help put Carroll back on the map in Dayton for basketball. It was around 4 years ago when Tim Cogan took over the Carroll program. With his defensive mentality, he helped make Carroll a force to reckon with on both ends of the floor on any given night. This combined with the effort put forth by Eli and his senior class has made Carroll one of the dark horses in Dayton.
Eli is averaging 17 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 assists per game and leads the league in scoring. As a result, he has received interest from several mid/low major D1 schools and has received even more interest from Findlay and Bellarmine. As the season comes to an end, Eli is bound to receive even more interest and will be a prized recruit with whichever program he selects.
