Recruiting Report: Jaxson Hayes (2018)
Jaxson Hayes- 6’8 F/C
Archbishop Moeller -Class of 2018
AAU Team- Twenty Two Vision
Floor/Ceiling: LM/MM D-I
The AAU season has been very, very good to Twenty Vision and Moeller senior F/C Jaxson Hayes. “I’ve gotten 15 D-I offers since the beginning of AAU,” Hayes stated. “I have gotten offers from Northern Kentucky University, Middle Tennessee State, Toledo, Ohio University, Miami (OH) and Louisiana Tech, I can e-mail you the full list if needed,” Hayes told me in our phone interview. But to anyone who has seen the big man play, it is not a surprise the attention that he is getting on the AAU circuit.
Jaxson is one of the more talented bigs in the state of Ohio, with great hands and an outstanding ability to run the floor. Due to his length and athleticism Hayes has the ability not only to change shots around the rim but keep perimeter players in front of him and contest their shots as well. Jaxson mentioned some of these traits as well when I asked what he felt was the best aspect of his game at the moment. “I would say my athleticism and length on defense right now,” he stated. “I feel like that is a natural part of my game.”
When asked what he feels he needs to work on, Hayes stated, “My aggressiveness to the hoop.” “Also becoming more physical and scoring better in the paint.” Jaxson stated that at the next level he plans on majoring in either marketing or business as life goals he feel will take him in one of those directions. Hayes and 22 Vision will be competing in tournaments in South Carolina and Vegas so end the AAU session, coaches should not pass up the opportunity to see this athletic, talented big.
