One West Virginia Division II school seems to be the most involved in Greynolds’ early recruitment, and there’s a mutual admiration between the two.
“I’ve talked a decent amount to Fairmont State in West Virginia, their coach is actually from the area and I’ve gotten to know him pretty well,” said Greynolds. “I’ve talked to the coach at Malone University and they said they’re going to come to a couple games this year.”
Reynolds also mentioned Macalester in Minnesota as a program that’s pursuing him, but says his main focus right now is on his high school career.
“I’m still mostly focusing on high school, I want to have a great high school career and win a lot in high school,” he said. “But I’ve thought plenty about recruitment up to this point, and really my main thing is just to try and get to a mid-major D1, or a good D2.”
Greynolds added: “And really I’m just about getting to a place where academically I can get further in life while playing with a really good coach and good players.”
Known as a shooter, Greynolds says his rebounding ability may be a bit overlooked.
“My main skill-set is shooting, I’m mostly a 3-point shooter. Another skill I have that a lot of people don’t talk about is rebounding, I averaged about 6 rebounds per game last year. Passing is another thing I do well,” he said.
The junior wing came to the Magics from GlenOak, after his dad received the head coaching job. According to Greynolds, his role with his new team is a lot of the same.
“It’s pretty similar to year’s past. Both teams that I’ve played with have a lot of interchangeable players, so I’m able to play inside and out. I’ll be one of our top scorers, if not our top scorer, I’m trying to get around 20 per game or so,” he said.
“We have a lot of really good shooters on our team and if it’s not my night I want to be able to facilitate and find the hot guys, get them the ball and just be able to find my niche each night.”
