Big men are evolving at every level of the game, and are vital for programs that are looking for success. Noah Tomlinson (2018) of Grove City Christian is arguably one of the most versatile post players coming out of the Columbus area.
Standing at 6-foot-5, Tomlinson can be defined as a “tweener”, being tall enough to hang out on the block, but also a good size for a valuable wingman. That’s the thing though, he CAN play both positions, but on a smaller Grove City Christian team Tomlinson has no other option, but to hover around the paint.
“I can shoot from three and then score from inside and post up,” Tomlinson said. “I play the three and the four typically, but I play the five for my school (Grove City Christian) because we are not as big.”
Tomlinson is also known for his ability to distribute the ball to teammates. For a big man he has fantastic awareness and court vision, which contributes to him being a true all-around player.

The No. 56 ranked player in the 2018 class, by 270 Hoops, ran with Pro Bound Ohio Warriors, and over the off-season worked on his quickness, defense and leaping ability.
With two years left to go in his high school campaign, Tomlinson has already begun to attract college coaches. Ashland University (DII) and Concord University (DII) are two of the schools that have expressed the most interest in Tomlinson, but he has also been in contact with Cleveland State and Akron, including an unofficial visit to the Zips campus. To add to the already impressive early recruitment of Tomlinson, he was invited to University of Michigan’s elite camp, making the Wolverines the highest-level program that he has connected with.
“I am open to anything at this point,” Tomlinson said. “But I do want to play division one basketball.”
Being able to play both forward positions, and center, Tomlinson sure does have a bright future ahead of him in regard to collegiate basketball. Look for the junior to help lead the senior and junior heavy Grove City Christian roster to a deep run in the post-season.
