Smooth as silk. That is one way to describe the game of Solomon Pierre-Louis (2018). The 6-foot-4 combo-guard from Wellington has a high basketball IQ, and it shows with his shot selection and ability to find the open man.
Pierre-Louis is a vocal leader on the court despite being an underclassman on the team. His leadership skills have made him one of the premier guards out of the Columbus area, and his recruiting stock continues to rise.
“This summer I have really been working on my ball handling,” Pierre-Louis said. “I also am working on being more of a point guard, rather than a shooting guard, so I can bring the ball up the court and set up the offense. I want to be a threat at all times.”
When playing for the Pro Bound Ohio Warriors, Pierre-Louis is responsible for majority of the ball handling as the point guard, but during the school season he plays more of the wing position for Wellington. No matter the position, the rising junior finds a way to get open for his mid-range jump shot, which is his strength on the offensive end.

Pierre-Louis had a stellar AAU season with the Warriors, as he was able to turn heads and gain some interest from several strong college programs. Middle Tennessee State, Air Force and Colgate are three schools that recently have joined the list of schools that have reached out to Pierre-Louis. Currently, there are no offers on the table…yet.
“I am open to any type of school right now,” Pierre-Louis said. “But academics is a big thing for me.”
When late November comes around be ready for Pierre-Louis and the Wellington Jaguars to prove that they are a name that has the potential to be heard again in March. This will be Pierre-Louis’s first season playing for Wellington after transferring in from Columbus Academy, where he played his first two seasons of his high school career, but he is already familiar with the Jag’s roster.

Last year the Jaguars made it to the state tournament final four, but fell short to Lima Senior in the semi-final.
