With that being said, there’s a number of role guys stepping up for the Polar Bears. One of them is next season’s potential starting point guard, Ethan Stanislawski.
“I just want to say I’m proud of teammates … At first I was a little nervous, because I played JV last year … Whenever I started getting into it, my teammates started enjoying playing with me and they knew I was capable of good things. So they started trusting me, and it started to click with us,” Stanislawski said.
At 6’1”, the 2018 prospect has met every challenge this summer with enthusiasm and the swagger of a court general. Before June, he also was playing exceptionally for TNBA 16U.
As far as college recruitment, he did not mention any schools specifically. Stanislawski has been attending D-II and D-III elite camps throughout the summer.
His game does have upside. Even more importantly, there’s an unquestionable willingness to develop the talent he has.
Stanislawski brings a team-oriented and up-tempo approach to the game — taking pride in drawing multiple defenders so he can then dish to open teammates.
“I’m a pass-first kind of point guard. If I need to score, I will. I’ll do whatever it takes to win, so if that’s finding my open teammate, driving and kicking, or playing lockdown defense against the offensive player on the team, I’ll do it,” Stanislawski said.
Doing whatever it takes includes time away from the court. Stanislawski has a work ethic to go along with a winner’s mindset.
“I need to attack the basket better. I’m a good shooter and I handle the ball well. But attacking the basket and making two guard one is probably the most important thing I need to work on.”
He also identified strength as an area that he’s working on right now.

Last season on junior varsity, he averaged 11.2 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 3.2 assists. He also reigned in the three-ball at a 43.1% clip.
Stanislawski, who carries a 3.5 GPA, is naturally going to improve being around talented teammates in both the winter and summer months.
When the interest starts flying in, Stanislewski will be looking for a college with a welcoming campus, a coach he can build a relationship with, and solid teammates.
