Carlson is the featured talent on a relatively new local Grassroots program called Twin Ports Pride.
“I mainly play AAU for the exposure and to just have fun,” Cody said about his first two months with Twin Ports Pride. “This spring has showed me what I need to improve on to better myself as a basketball player.”
Carlson is without a doubt talented. He put up 14 points and nearly double figure rebounds a game this winter. The potential is there and Carlson has a good game IQ as well. He has specifics he is working to get better at.
“I want to improve on attacking the basket and going through contact,” said Carlson. “I have improved on my athletic ability and the overall knowledge of the game. I want to get in the weight room and increase my athleticism.”
The list of teams contacting Cody is somewhat small right now but it’s a quality list and it will add more teams soon based on what we saw recently at the Battle at the Lakes.
“I have heard from Bemidji State, St. Olaf, Minot State, and the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. I plan on majoring in architectural and automotive engineering.”
