Daniel Hoekstra to Illinois Wesleyan
Bishop McNamara 2016 shooting guard Daniel Hoekstra informed PrepHoopsIllinois of his college decision on Monday night.
“I have committed to Illinois Wesleyan.”
Hoekstra broke down why they were his ultimate choice.
“I fell in love with the campus on my visit. It has a tremendous accounting program. I was able to build a great relationship with the players and the coaching staff.”
How does he see his game fitting in with his new program?
“They like to get out and run in transition with their wing players and I feel that my ability to get to the rim or shoot the pull up will fit well.”
The senior 6’4” wing is a tough player that does a little bit of everything from slashing, to hitting spot up threes, as well as contributing on the glass with his toughness. He played with Chicago Lockdown during his time on the grassroots circuit. Quality addition to Illinois Wesleyan that will bring competitiveness and versatility for the next four years.
