An offer from the highest-ranked program in the NSIC isn’t a bad way to start your recruitment. When Eastview junior Jameson Bryan got a scholarship offer from Augustana, it came as a surprise. “I had been in contact with the coaches a…
“I had been in contact with the coaches a bit and had checked out the campus once,” Bryan said, “but the fact that they offered me was a really nice surprise. It feel really great to get that first offer! It’s nice to know that all the hard work is starting to pay off, it’s a really fun feeling and truly a great opportunity to have.
“I’m very excited for the AAU season! I’ve received letters from Northern State and I was invited to a Southwest Minnesota State elite camp last summer.”
Eastview is sitting at 12-8 overall, and Jameson’s 12.4 PPG are part of a well-rounded offensive attack. Sean Ryan, Martin Mitchell, Connor Stevens and Mason Carpenter all average 9.9 PPG or more.
“The season has been going pretty well so far,” Bryan said. “It’s been different from last year because we are so much smaller, so defense and rebounding have really been our keys that we have tried to focus on. But we have been having success because we are a scrappy bunch and we have a good shooting team.”
When you watch Bryan play, you can tell he has raw ability. He’s working on refining a few things in order to become even more versatile and effective.
“I’ve been working on making my jumper more consistent and being able to shoot off the dribble because those are the type of looks I usually get in the game. Also, I am becoming a better decision maker under pressure, and that really comes with being able to handle the ball, so I’ve been working on that as well.”
